Join an Inspiring Adventure!
With the support of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo, the Utalaya Foundation is implementing an exciting project called “She’s Mountain/Ajo’Mal.”
We are looking for 15 young women aged 17-25, regardless of ethnicity or religion, to participate in two-day expeditions through the stunning mountains of Kosovo (Sharri Mountains, Rugova Mountains, Gacaferri Mountains). The expenses of the expeditions, led and mentored by the renowned mountaineer Uta Ibrahimi, will be fully covered.
Suppose you are passionate about hiking, nature, and environmental protection. In that case, this is your chance to apply and join an exceptional opportunity to learn about mountain guiding, mountaineering, and the natural beauty of Kosovo. Alongside Uta Ibrahimi’s mentorship, participants will gain hiking, advocacy, and personal development skills.
Application Deadline: 30 September 2024!
The expeditions will take place on weekends throughout October and each participant will be able to attend one weekend.
Who Can Apply?
- All girls with citizenship and residence in Kosovo from all municipalities (applications from rural areas and the RAE, Turkish, Bosnian, and Serbian communities are encouraged)
- Girls who are looking for new experiences
- University students in Physical Education, Ecology, Biology, Geography, and Tourism but not limited to these (anyone who feels eligible to participate is welcome)
- Girls seeking physical activities to enhance their physical and mental health
- Girls interested in developing skills as a mountain guide
Criteria:
- Female
- Aged 17-25
- Passionate about nature and its preservation
- Good communication skills and curiosity to learn new things
- Open to debate and discussion
- Enjoy teamwork
- Comfortable expressing themselves in front of the camera
- Disciplined and ready to adhere to activity dates and schedules
How to Apply?
Send a short video to [email protected] (making a drive link) explaining why you are the right person for this initiative and your motivation for applying. Include a CV detailing your education, languages spoken, and relevant skills (work experience is not required). Additionally, provide a list of peaks and mountains you have climbed (if any) and references from clubs or organizations that led those hikes.
Covered Expenses:
- Expeditions and mentorship
- Food, accommodation, and transport (for expeditions in the Sharr Mountains, Rugova Mountains, or Gacaferri Mountains)
- Clothing, equipment, and all necessary activity materials
- Certificate of participation/appreciation
Expenses Not Covered:
- Transport for the informational and recruitment session in Gërmia, Pristina
- Transport for the documentary premieres in Pristina, Prizren, and Peja
ATTENTION
Certain segments will be filmed during the expeditions, allowing participants to share their impressions of this experience. A short documentary will be created featuring Uta and all participants, delivering messages and encouraging other girls to join this unified mission and showcase to the community that girls are strong, resilient, and magnificent like the mountains.
