Enthusiasm and positive energy characterized the third edition of the High Scardus Ultra, a race that brought together runners from all over the world on the extraordinary trails of the Sharr Mountains.
This race is organized by the Utalaya Foundation, Shar Outdoors, and TREX, with the organizational support of the SHB Sharri Association.
With the participation of around 100 runners, this event conveyed not only the challenge of nature but also a powerful message for promoting this extraordinary region globally.
The runners who took part in the 60 km race started early in the morning from Prizren, crossing the Sharr Mountains’ trails to finish at Kodra e Diellit in North Macedonia. Those who tackled the 20 km distance had the chance to enjoy the beauty of the Jelak trail, an experience that embodies the magic of nature and a passion for outdoor sports.
Most importantly, all participants were well-prepared, under the care and observation of the organizers, and the race concluded without any physical injuries or unpleasant experiences.
The closing ceremony, held at Kodra e Diellit, was made even more special with the presence of the Mayor of Tetovo, Mr. Bilall Kasimi, who has been one of the key supporters of this race. This act symbolizes the cooperation between the two countries and the cultural connection that this race promotes.
A special thanks goes to all the runners, volunteers, and sponsors who made this event possible.
We express our deep gratitude to everyone who made this race possible: SHB Sharri Prizren, the Municipality of Tetovo, Red Bull, Sporting, Onze, Telegrafi, Scardus Hotel, 2U Healthy Food, VM3, Hyperice, Trex, Rugove, The Better Travel Co., Zdrava Navika-Natusana, NP Tetova Transport, Bonita Organic Nut Butters, Temov Brewery, Artico Media.
Their support, along with that of all the volunteers, has been crucial to the success of the race. This collaboration is a true example of social responsibility and support for the development of mountain sports and tourism.
We warmly thank the Kosovo Search and Rescue Service and the Sharri National Park.
This year’s trophy was a unique and special symbol, known as the Menada of Tetovo or the Bride of Tetovo. This ancient artifact represents a figure dancing in honor of the god Dionysus, symbolizing the spirit of society, hope, and positivity – qualities that also reflect the High Scardus Ultra race.
Both the artifact and the race serve as symbolic links between Kosovo and North Macedonia, emphasizing the cultural and historical unity between these two countries.
The High Scardus Ultra has demonstrated that it not only unites people through sports but also transcends borders, promoting a region rich in nature, history, and hope for a healthier future in harmony with nature.
